IDS and Asian Supply Base (Labuan) to Strengthen Ties

Kota Kinabalu (Wed): The Institute for Development Studies (Sabah) paid a courtesy call and site visit to Asian Supply Base Sdn. Bhd. (ASB) in Labuan Federal Territory on 25 February 2020, and was received by the Chairman of ASB, YB Senator Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin and ASB Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Hj Harris Hj Annuar Tan.
The IDS delegation led by Chairman, Tan Sri Simon Sipaun and Executive Director cum Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Anthony Kiob was given a briefing session by ASB and discussed several areas of research collaboration towards the economic development of both Sabah and Labuan. Among the topics discussed include the development of the Halal industry, and human capital development in the oil and gas, and logistics sectors.
At the same time, the courtesy visit was done to strengthen the long-term relationship between both parties as IDS Chairman, Tan Sri Simon Sipaun was a former Chairman of ASB, which is wholly owned by the Sabah State government via Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn. Bhd.
